20" screen
4gb ram ( i did the upgrade )
2ghz dual core processor
i know it has a hd dvd drive that i will never use but then i didnt really want that anyhow i was more interested in the screen size, processor and ram.
i needed something more powerful to program on but it is going to sit in the bedroom mostly and also act as a multimedia hub, watching dvds, tv, playing music etc. It will replace my desktop pc, my old centrino dell 8600 laptop which just seemed too slow lately and my bedroom tv screen. So even though it's costing a few quid its saving space and multitasks well. I hope! It's my first acer, i was really impressed with the last acer aspire i handled, so im giving them a go!

you should get commission! :) however i just had to send the laptop back because after booting it up for only the second time all i got was a black screen before vista or any OS booted, no command line and i couldnt get to the boot options or bios. Weird i think it might be to do with the ram upgrade i had done. Bad ram or wrong ram. I could have checked but wasnt going to open the case and invalidate the warranty. It's gone back to acerdirect who by the way are the worst laptop retailer i've ever experienced. The laptop was ok but i never had such bad customer service in my life! don't buy from them! I also just found out today that the guy who sits opposite me in my new new workplace has exactly the same laptop but his hasnt had the same prob! Wierd eh.
